Steve Egan is a life-long resident of Will County. He started his law enforcement career with the Joliet Police Department before moving to the Will County Sheriff's department 25 years ago. He has worked in virtually every segment of the sheriff's department including many special units.
Steve has risen through the ranks and has spent the past 10 years as a Sheriff's Lieutenant. An individual with the highest level of integrity, Steve was drawn to public service for one simple reason; to serve his fellow residents. He learned this ethic for his late father , a retired Joliet Firefighter.

Steve was born and raised in Joliet, where he still resides. He is the proud father of two grown daughters, Kim and Kelly. Steve lost his third daughter, Stephanie, in 2004 at fifteen years old to Spina Bifida. Nothing is more important to Steve than family and protecting every family in Will County. Steve has always been active in the community over the years with various organizations like United Cerebral Palsy, Will County ABATE, NRA, ISRA and the Joliet Lions Club.
